In circular construction, products are the foundation for a viable and truly sustainable model. They enable buildings to become banks of reusable and healthy materials. A key tool in this process is the Material Passport, which identifies and documents components for future reuse.<\/p>\n

Companies like Interface are committed to sustainability, innovating in the design of carpets, PVC, and rubber products. Through the Cradle to Cradle Certified\u00ae<\/strong> program, Interface ensures that its carpets are not only durable and easy to replace without adhesives but also environmentally responsible throughout their lifecycle.<\/p>\n

Under the guidance of Eco Intelligent Growth (EIG)<\/strong>, a consultancy within Grupo Construc\u00eda that drives circular economy and sustainable innovation, Interface reviewed more than 2,000 ingredients in its products. This effort led to the development of CQuestBio \u00abbiobacking\u00bb<\/strong>, a carpet backing that is healthy, low-carbon, and made with safe and recoverable materials. This approach has been integrated across all their products, contributing to reduced CO2 impact and a cleaner lifecycle for their materials.<\/p>\n

Through its ReEntry\u00ae<\/strong> program, Interface also collects used carpets at the end of their lifecycle to give them a second life or recycle them in its plant in the Netherlands, closing the circularity loop.<\/p>\n

The IV Circular Construction Summit:<\/a> A Space for Reflection and Collaboration<\/h3>\n

Interface will share its expertise at the Cradle to Cradle Certified\u00ae corner<\/strong> of the IV Circular Construction Forum, highlighting the role of materials in a regenerative and sustainable cycle where products are essential to achieving true circular construction.<\/p>\n

The forum will also feature various panel discussions on key topics in the transition to a circular economy in the built environment. In one of these sessions, Becky Gordon<\/strong>, Regional Sustainability Manager (UKIME) at Interface, will join us to discuss Buildings as Material Banks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

With the participation of top-tier international speakers, the European conversation converges in Barcelona to advance solutions and foster collaboration among key stakeholders: public administration, academia, and industry.<\/p>\n

This year, the event opens its doors to the entire community and will feature prominent international players, including companies like Holcim<\/strong> and Interface<\/strong> as sponsors, and the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute<\/strong>, which will host a pre-event session on Thursday afternoon and participate in the main event alongside Eco Intelligent Growth (EIG)<\/strong> at a space dedicated to certified products. The event will also welcome special guest Elwyn Grainger-Jones<\/strong>, president of the organization.<\/p>\n
