The fourth edition of the Circular Construction Forum was packed with important news.
The event was organised by the UPC-Grupo Construcía Chair, the Circular Economy Hub in Construction, with the support of the Barcelona Provincial Council.
The forum was attended by leading industry players, including companies such as Holcim and Interface, which joined as sponsors, and partners such as the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute and the EIC.
International leaders shared their experiences and visions, fostering a dialogue that promoted action and strengthened the connection between the various players in the sector.
The Circular Construction Summit continues to grow, driving the transformation of the construction sector in southern Europe.
Join the change!
We will discuss how to address the full carbon cycle in construction, considering all stages of a building's life cycle. Our focus will be on Scope 3 emissions, sharing sector experiences as one of the key pillars for global decarbonization. .
We will explore the interrelationship between human health and biodiversity, which is crucial for the sustainability of ecosystems. Through various experiences, we will analyze how construction impacts physical and emotional health, promoting a holistic approach to well-being.
We know that the sector’s biggest impact comes from how materials are used. What is the path to activating efficient urban mining? Strategies, tools, real examples of successful practices—and some that aren’t so successful—will be explored.
The current model of progress seems inextricably linked to electrification and digitalization. But are these the strategies we need to solve society’s problems? Are we implementing them correctly? We will explore different perspectives on urban system practices.
Cradle to Cradle Certified® Products: products that make circular construction possible
One of the major new features of this edition was the Cradle to Cradle Certified® products section.
This prestigious seal has been distinguishing products that provide healthy and circular solutions on the market for 20 years. We had the opportunity to interact with some products, manufacturers, consultants and representatives of the C2C Certified® community to understand the principles that underpinned the development of the circular economy and how they are integrated into products.

Cradle to Cradle Certified® (C2C) Product Programme: enabling circular construction product by product.
We were honoured to introduce the Cradle Products Innovation Institute at the launch of its new certification: C2C Certified® Circularity, an innovative product certification that provides a roadmap to circularity. From product design and sourcing to systems, packaging and material health, it ensures a comprehensive approach to sustainability throughout the entire product life cycle. We discovered how circularity opens the door to other sustainability benefits by listening to circularity leaders in the industry and being among the first to learn about this exciting new certification.
